Adolescence Education: Mathematics (7-12) Initial certification
Work Experience in education:
Mathematics teacher- 2014 to present
Something about me:
My love for teaching began as a teenager working at a summer camp. I spent six summers, working up from a counselor-in-training, to a counselor, and eventually to the position of assistant director. I love working with children and I also love math, so I decided to pursue a career as a math teacher. I obtained my teaching degree from SUNY Cortland in 2013 and shortly after, was hired at McGraw as a long term substitute. The next school year, I was hired as a full time teacher. I received my master's degree in Adolescence Education: Mathematics (grades 7-12) in the summer of 2017. I love working here; the students, staff, and content make my job interesting and fun.
Things I like to do:
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy coaching softball. When I am not teaching, I like spending time outdoors, preferably with my family and black Labrador retriever, Daisy.
Every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.
