5th Grade Book Reports

Once again, the fifth grade class has impressed me with their hard work and reading skills! Each month, fifth grade students are expected to complete a book report on a specific genre. For the month of November, students read a historical fiction book of their choice for their nightly reading homework and independent reading time in class. It was amazing to listen in as they confidently shared detailed summaries, thoughtful connections, favorite passages, author information, and their opinion of the book to their classmates. As well, students completed unique and thoughtful projects to further inform and convince their peers to read the book. In the photo, you can see that some students chose to create a bookmark, puppet, mobile, character award, and so on. Fifth graders are excited to dive into their December book choice, which is a realistic fiction novel. I can't wait to listen to their book reports at the end of the month to see the progress they've made!
