| Ms. Coombs Grade 5/6 summer school class focused on mathematics, reading, and writing across their projects and curriculum. They also incorporated science and social studies into their daily learning. They learned about layers of soil, different rocks, evaporation, New York State counties, units of measurement using English and metric measurements, and spent a great deal of time on mathematical applications with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, factoring, and converting measurements. Students read and analyzed the book Tuck Everlasting during ELA and created a variety of art projects including flower pressed tapestries. They also shared reading with our kindergarten friends. |
