Police Officer and K9 Partner

Cortland City Police Officer Ken Bush and his K9 partner Lummel came in this past month for a brief presentation for our 3^rd graders.  This demonstration followed a story from our Journeys Reading Series, Aero and Officer Mike.  Officer Bush shared information about the professional training and the equipment that is used to prepare Lummel for his work as a police dog.  Students were able to pass around equipment used for training purposes, watch Lummel and Officer Bush practice some of Lummel’s training tasks, and were also given the chance to pet Lummel if they wanted to.  Thank you, Officer Bush and Lummel, for coming in to help us make real word connections to the stories we read!
