Michelle Bassett

A good education is another name for happiness.

--Ann Plato, US teacher & author

Hello. My name is Michelle Bassett. I have been teaching in McGraw central school since 2001.  I attended SUNY Cortland where I earned both my Bachelor (December 2010) and Masters Degrees with a concentration in science and math. Prior to teaching in McGraw, I held a long term subbing position at Randall Elementary (first grade) in Cortland, NY.  I have had the pleasure of working in kindergarten, first and second grades. I am so excited to teach a 1/2 combination class!  First grade is a year of many celebrations, a year of surprising and wondrous growth. Children begin to see themselves as readers, writers and problem solvers. Second grade is a time to expand on what you have learned and begin delving into details and expanding your knowledge.  In our classroom the children have high and clear goals. You are your child’s first teacher and we welcome your input and collaboration.

It's never to late to be whoever you want to be.
I hope you live a life you're proud of,
and if you find that you're not,
I hope that you have the strength to start over.
