     Third grade is a beginning year of transition for students and third graders are expected to take on more responsibility this year.  Planners are essential tools in helping students be organized, get their work done on time, and help them to be successful.  As students become more independent this year, they will gain valuable practice in lifelong skills such as being accountable for the completion of their assignments.  Cooperative learning and hands-on activities are strategies we use to help give your child an environment that is most conducive to learning. Since the   pandemic, we have increased our ability to use technology to keep learning a priority in our students lives. This year students will continue to become better proficient on google classroom as a way to continue to prepare themselves during a time where technology can enhance the learning process.

New York State requires that all third grade students take assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Students take the English Language Arts and the Mathematics tests at the end of April/ beginning of May this year.

the ability to learn is a skill;
the willingness to learn is a choice."
