Enrichment Bridge Build Project

Seventh and eighth grade students in Enrichment have been building bridges out of balsa wood to see how much weight they could hold.  Both Enrichment groups created their own list of materials and structured their bridges in their own way.  Each group created two trial bridges and then one, final bridge build.

Rules: Bridges needed to be made out of one Balsa wood kit, with no extra wood added.  Any materials that the groups wanted were able to be used by both groups.  Bridges must be 37-39 inches long, 5-7 inches wide, and 5-10 inches high.  Tables were set 26 inches apart.

Team A won the challenge, with their final bridge holding 105 pounds!  Students were given a S’mores Day to celebrate!
