Gratitude

Throughout the month of November, sixth graders have been talking a lot about gratitude.  The students have taken part in very thoughtful conversations about people, places, and things they are grateful for and why.  Several times a week, students chose a person, place, or thing they were grateful for and wrote it on a post-it note. Then these items were added to their class pumpkin.  The students looked forward to filling out their post-it each day and would often gather around the pumpkin to read all of the new things that had been added.  The students drew a name to see who got to take the pumpkin home for Thanksgiving break.
