The Big I in Syracuse

Ms. Coombs' Money & Banking/InVEST students, Isabella Hernandez, Rayevyn Hodgson, and Keira Luzum, together with students from Dryden and Groton, participated in presentations and a tour of the Big I in Syracuse on Tuesday, December 6.  The Big I is the trade association of New York State that supports the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York (IIABNY).  The conference is part of the National Insurance InVEST program that students actively participate in to learn more about the insurance industry, careers, education and opportunities.  Throughout the year the students will also have the opportunity to visit local insurance companies, and speak with over 20 insurance and risk management professionals in their classroom.  At the end of the year students are eligible for $2,000 in local scholarships as well as opportunities for national awards.
