First Graders recently visited Lime Hollow Nature Center to spend the day awakening their senses to Nature through several activities and games. They used their sense of touch to discover a turtle shell, a beaver pelt, and a deer antler. Their sense of smell and taste were enlightened with a drink of White Pine tea. Everyone enjoyed a game of "Deer Ears" using their sense of hearing. On a nature hike students used their sense of sight to discover natural and unnatural items and discussed how those items were camouflaged in the environment. The students loved being nature detectives!
