Two FFA members, Christiana & Haylee, went to the State Leaders Experience in Albany. The State Leaders Experience is a 2-day leadership event for FFA members to meet with their representatives and learn about policy making. Christiana and Haylee spent Monday learning about agriculture issues and policy making. On Tuesday, they were able to tour the Capitol Building, visit the NY State Museum, meet with legislators and attend a Senate Session.

They also met with local legislators to discuss agriculture specifically in our area. They met with Senator Webb, who is on the Agriculture Committee. She represents parts of Cortland, Tompkins and Broome Counties. They also met Assemblyman Gallahan, who represents parts Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Broome and Chenango counties. Lastly, Senator Hinchey, who is Chair of the Agriculture Committee, invited FFA members to attend the Senate's Session on Tuesday. FFA members were able to watch the session before going into the gallery to meet with her.
