  • Camera Operations: Learning how to handle professional equipment and frame the perfect shot.

  • Scripting: Practicing how to read with expression and edit scripts for perfect timing.

  • On-Camera Presence: Building confidence and learning the importance of maintaining eye contact with the audience.

  • Green Screen Magic: Starting the first phases of learning how green screens work—using specific camera settings to transport the anchors from the STEM lab to the "newsroom."

The crew recently did a story with the first graders:
Students in Mrs. Boland's and Mrs. Latta’s classes are learning about The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Often called "The Last Great Race on Earth." It is a grueling 1,000 mile journey across the Alaskan wilderness. It commemorates the historical role of sled dogs in Alaska's development and the famous 1925 "Serum Run" to Nome.

The next phases for The Nest Network will be learning the art of editing and how to use fun clip transitions to bring their stories to life!
