On Friday, April 10th students from across Cortland County will present the final projects that mark the culmination of two years of focused language study and practice, work that qualifies them to receive the New York State Seal of Biliteracy at graduation in June. Each student will deliver a prepared presentation about their project to a panel of area school language teachers, demonstrating both communicative skill and cultural understanding in their Foreign Language. Earning the Seal of Biliteracy recognizes academic achievement, affirms bilingual identity, and signals to colleges and employers that these students have real-world language ability; this event showcases the value of language study in our community by connecting learners, educators, and local schools, and by celebrating multilingualism as an asset that strengthens classroom learning and civic life.
