Parents

WELCOME!

I have a passion for special education and special education advocacy. I look forward to getting to know your child and facilitating a respectful, safe, and academic school environment.

Classroom Support Staff: Mrs. Hapgood & Mrs. Hurlbert

DAILY SHEET
Everyday I will send your child home with a document detailing your child’s day. Please sign and return to school every day. There will also be room on the paper for you to write back to me if needed.

CLOTHING
Please ensure your child dresses in appropriate clothing each day. As per Mcgraw Schools’ Code of Conduct, a student’s dress shall “ensure that undergarments are covered at all times...exclude extremely tight garments...and include safe footwear.” Please ensure your child comes to school in clothes that fit and are weather appropriate. Please keep in mind we will be taking frequent walks outdoors and the students have PE.

I like to have fresh air circulating the classroom when weather permits. Please send in a sweatshirt for your child to be kept in school.

Please send in an extra change of clothes for your child to be kept in the classroom. Please include a shirt, pants, underwear, and socks. We will rotate the clothes seasonally.

HYGIENE
We will practice many hygienic routines throughout the year. These include hair care, teeth care, nail care, body care, overall cleanliness and hand washing. Feel free to send your child in with any hygiene products to be used (we have products here as well).

LIFE SKILLS
Our class will have a strong emphasis on life and daily living skills (these skills will be communicated to you). I encourage you to practice these skills with your child at home.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
Students will have opportunities to earn rewards and privileges throughout the day. Students will work toward individual goals as well as group goals.

QUESTIONNAIRES
Please fill out the attached questionnaires and return to school in your child’s folder.

CONTACT & COMMUNICATION
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. You can contact me at the school via phone during school hours and on my email anytime.

Feel free to contact me with any concerns about behaviors happening at home. I’d be happy to work on them in class.
